Your opinion as an architect on lighting?
-An essential element in an interior environment. In addition to functionality, the aesthetics or style of the lamp is equally important, as it is an object that directly affects the volume of an interior. Even to make a retrospective, in all ages of mankind, chandeliers have been used to give class and grandeur to the halls of rulers. But times have changed, and so have their designs, evolving and bringing endless alternatives in different styles.
A lamp is more than that, it is an accessory that completes the interior, sometimes adapting, sometimes contrasting and becoming a protagonist in the environment in which it is located.

How important is architectural lighting design in your experience?
-I think one of the factors that has the biggest impact on interior and exterior design is definitely lighting. Personally, I am most passionate about interiors and I can say with conviction that one of the elements that dominates an interior is lighting. In every project in which I have had my influence or which I may have followed in whole or in part, the lighting has always been the “icing on the cake”.

Are there architects in the Albanian market specialized only in lighting?
-To my knowledge, there are no architects dedicated only to lighting in the Albanian market. We definitely have very talented specialists who cover this field as well, but it is still too early to talk about specialists only for 100% lighting, without being involved in other areas.

What is your opinion about the emotion provoked by the right light and the right lighting in an environment?
-I think that both painting and photography are based on light. Even the very images that our sight perceives cannot be without light because it makes them stand out, and the beauty of it all is that the senses connect with each other, inevitably forming the emotion. Emotion is then the genesis of every experience, thanks to enlightenment.

Is lighting the most important language between which many fields in architecture speak and communicate?
-Undoubtedly yes, a proper lighting brings you to light by highlighting the beauty of an environment, as it “sinks” if you highlight its flaws.

What qualities should a professional designer have?
-A lighting professional must use lighting as a material of construction, and in this journey he must be: sensitive as an artist, pragmatic as a designer, and curious as a scientist. The important thing is that it answers the question, what feeling do you want to transmit with the created space.
