Erseka lies in the southeastern part of Albania, it is part of the southeastern mountainous region of the country. Erseka is the capital of the district of Kolonje and is positioned in the interior of the Kolonje Plateau, which has a height of about 1100 m above sea level, making it the highest city in all of Albania. The mountain from which this city got its name is Gramozi. Due to the fact that in Gramoz there are many beautiful fragrant field flowers, the area was given the name Kolonje, because this type of men’s perfume was the only one associated with good smell at that time. So Erseka is the center of the southeast district with the good wind and the fantastic Eglo lamp.
